The Cookie Law is a legislation that requieres websites to get consents from visitors to store any information. It started as a European Union Directive, but now All websites owned in the European Union or targeted towards EU citizens, are now expected to comply with the law. This means that if you live in the USA or in an Asian country, and you have business with European Union Countries, you must add a Cookie Policy to your website.
We have developed a Cookie Policy Widget for Adobe Muse for you to download for free. This free Muse Widget lets you create a cookie policy popup which will appear in your website footer to any new visitor that has never closed it before. This is a 100% responsive widget, which means that the popup will adapt to your browser’s width.
Since it only appears once per user, if you close it, you will need to use Chrome incognito windows or Safari Private Windows to see new changes.
To configure your cookie policy link, check your html file name inside “export as HTML” folder. It usually will be something like “your-cookie-policy-page-name.html“. Notice Adobe Muse translates spaces in your page name as “-” symbol in html file names.

Problems positioning overlayed widgets? read this
* iOS security disables cookies the first time you visit a new site. There is a chance that the popup won’t disappear until you visit the site a second time. This problem has appeared since iOS8, due to high security restrictions.
Please follow these instructions to download a free widget:
- Add to cart the widgets that you want to download.
- Click on the cart icon to view the widgets and “proceed to checkout”.
- Fill in the billing details to create an account and press “continue” to “place order”.
- You will receive two emails to access your account and to download the widget. You can enter your account or directly download it from the email.

This widget works fine for me on Windows and Android devices, but the cookiebar keeps popping up on every page visit on iOS devices (both safari and mozilla, with cookies enabled). How can i fix this issue?

Fine widget. The only thing that bugs me is that i can’t edit the ‘OK button’ to another colour. That’s really a shame. Otherwise it seems to work!

Somehow the cookie bar always apperas behind photos. When I scroll and a photo appears on the site, the cookie bar will be hidden by the photo :/

That usually happens when your Muse layers and positions have a wrong setup.
If you redistribute your elements you should be able to fix it easily.

Sadly it doesn´t work good for me. It just shows up one time. If you refresh the page it´s gone. Even with cleared webcache.

That usually means that there is a code conflict with any other widget in your website.
You should check Chrome error console to see if there is any problem there.
