Download for free our Muse Password Protect. There will be no charges at all.

This widget offers the possibility to hide a website while it is under construction or it is being updated, only being visible for those who have the password to access it. Visitors can get confused if they visit your site and see changes and test. To avoid this confusion, a password protection widget is a solution.

Just drop the widget to the top of your page in Adobe Muse Design mode and type your custom password in the widget options. You can hide the whole website or choose the pages you want to hide, ass the password works on the page it has been dragged to.

IMPORTANT: there is no secure method for protecting webpages with only javascript. Someone with enough knowledge to read your source code could break this protection. We recommend using it while your site is under construction or when you are updating it.

Default password: responsive-muse

Type this password to access the site.

It is saying “check for newer version!” What could be wrong? (CC2015 Muse)
    Thx

  4. Gary (verified owner)

It would be nice if it could be embedded into a web page that keeps the same branding of the website rather than go to a page that looks completely different.

  5. Horacio

    Thank you!

Why do you need the credit card if its free?

    • responsive-muse (verified owner)

      Hello!
We do not ask any credit card info for free items.
You will only see payment options if you add PAID items to your cart. Otherway, you can finish order and download for free without credit card.
      Kind regards.

    Hello,

Where are the options to hide the entire site? I do not see them ?

    Thank you

    • responsive-muse (verified owner)

      Hello!
To hide whole site you can place the widget in the home page, but if people know your internal pages URL they still can enter there.
Other option would be placing the widget in every single page to protect all of them.

This widget does a good job at password protecting your website.

    However,

When I took this off of my site, it only displays the “browser fill” color. Not any of the content of my site, please help! It doesn’t matter if I turn off the widget in the layers tab or delete it, it still just shows a blank page… Please help as now my website won’t show up. Thank you.

      Hi Joey.
When you delete the widget from your .muse project, it will not affect the website anymore, so if you are having problems it must be:
      – You are not deleting your browser cache, try with a private browser tab.
      – You have another copy of the widget in another part of your project.
      – There is any other problem not related with Password Protect.
      Please, check previous steps.
Also, if you send us the site URL, we can look at it to check the problem.
      Regards.

It works on the adobe muse preview, but when I publish it, it doesn’t work properly. I removes content from my page but there’s not field to enter the password.

I’m currently using the Password Protect Widget on my home page which is great. However, each time anyone goes back to my homepage they need to re-enter the password. Is there a way to place some sort of password protection solution that the viewer only needs to enter the password once?

    • responsive-muse (verified owner)

      Hi Charlie.
Unfortunately you would need some advanced coding to create a cookie that remembers the login. Currently, the widget does not have that feature.
