How to create a fixed menu with Muse built in widgets

Learn how to combine different widgets from the Widget Library to create others. Have you ever thought that you could combine the vertical menu with the accordion panel? In this posts you will learn how to do it. You will create a new menu with a nice accordion effect. Keep on reading!

  1. I have added a background photo and a fixed tab on the left of the site. When you are done with this, drag the Vertical Menu and the Accordion panel. Delete all tabs of the accordion except for one. Make sure to delete the text, the color fill and strokes. Make sure there is no color assigned. The vertical menu automatically adds all the pages of your site, so you do not have to worry about adding the pages manually.

2. Click on the menu and drag it into the accordion. Then, in the first tab add the icon menu. I have added a burger menu inside a circle, but be creative and choose your best icon!

3. Resize the menu to fit the black tab on the left. Once you are happy with the position of the fixed menu, pin the new widget to the left position. Make sure both widgets are pinned. This step can be a little bit tricky. If any element moves whenever you preview and scale your browser, this means that you have not pinned al the elements.

4. Change the menu’s behaviour when active, normal and rollover. Great thing about the accordion widget is that once you change one tab, the rest of them will be edited too.
