In March 26th, 2018 Adobe announced that the feature improvement released that same day, would be the last one. This was very upsetting news for all the Muse community. Adobe Muse forum and some online groups were on fire. Our customers where contacting us, asking for advice and to explain the situation… even a change.org petition started! After some weeks and to calm down angry users, Adobe decided to extend the technical support for active Creative Cloud customers until March 26th 2020, but as there will not be any future development, it is time to talk about alternatives.
We only found out 10 days before the official announcement. We spoke with Danielle Beaumont, who offered to video-chat, about the future and Adobe’s plans. She told us that she was moving on to Adobe XD and suggested giving a look. We tested it and we think it’s a great tool for prototyping but, at least at this moment, you cannot design a site in XD and export it to your domain and server.
We also studied other tools that you can find in the market for web designers. We found that some will force you to host your site in their servers, so they will charge you extra for this service, and will also charge you extra fees for some functionalities like e-Commerce or CMS. This is why we think that WordPress is the best alternative to Adobe Muse and you will sure design your site faster than before. If your clients now ask for private areas, logins or to build an online shop, with WordPress it will be so much easier.
