If you are new in Adobe Muse and you have never used other programs like Adobe Indesign, Master Pages might sound unknown. But really, once you learn why you should use them and how to use them, you will not regret it as you will save lots of time when you design your website.
In a Master Page we place all the content reused throughout all the pages of our website, like the position of the logo, the header or the footer design. This means that you just have to design it once and not in every single page. You store all these common elements in the master page and then apply it to all the pages. Whenever you make a change, it will apply the changes to all the pages based on that master. Here is an example of how it works:
In this website, we have created 2 master pages. By default, whenever you create a new site, the A-master page is automatically applied to the intial web page and any additional pages you add. But you can create additional Master pages and drag and drop over the page thumbnail in the sitemap.

This website has two paster pages because the color of the menu in white in A-Master, but that color will not contrast from the image background of the internal pages. So we created B-Master Page with the menu in purple.

We will apply A-Master Page to “Home” and B-Master Page to “Services”, “About us” and “Contact”. Drag and drop the thumbnails over the page thumbnails.
Click on the selected master page and drag it over the page thumbnail. Page thumbnail will change color.
Whenever you are done dragging and dropping, the name of the master page will appear below the name of the page. This means that they have been applied correctly.
